The chance to run another superhero race was too good to pass up. I ran the DC Wonder Woman run a month ago and really wanted to do another one of these races, this time with one of my son’s favorite superheroes, Batman. The DC Batman Run was a fun chance to dress up and run together.

Race Day!

Since this was a virtual race, I chose to run this race on October 31st, Halloween! It was the perfect opportunity to go all out with our costumes. Logan wore his Batman jammies with cape and I wore my Batman Run quarter-zip (included in registration cost!) and a cape and mask! It was super fun to dress up. We received lots of cheers and support from other runners along the trail we chose to race on. Since I was 37 weeks pregnant during the race it was more of a run/walk kind of situation, but it was a great excuse to get out and log some miles and have fun!

We ran with some mom’s from my local run group and just had fun running with friends and taking photos along the way. After the run we celebrated by going around to the local businesses that were handing out candy. Logan and I had a blast. This is a great family race, I recommend it for anyone wanting to find something physical to do with the whole family.

The SWAG

This race has great runner swag. You get a technical fabric quarter-zip fleece, moisture-wicking hat, quality medal and personalized race bib. You can also upload photos after your run on their site with batman themed overlays and print out a finisher certificate. Logan loved the medal and carried it around the house for days.

Organization

For a virtual race, I always look for good communication and swag/race items shipped in a timely manner. This race did all these things and my swag arrived fast and fit well. They have great communication via social and email about how to run the race and track results too. I would definitely run another race with them. If you are interested in running, sign up here.

A big thank you to the DC Batman Run team for a great way to keep racing during a pandemic. It may be different than we as runners are use to, but it is fun to still be able to race in some capacity. For me, it’s been fun to be able to do these races with my son. I can’t wait to run races in person again, but for now, this virtual run is as close as I will be getting and it was a great alternative.

Happy running! If you run this race be sure to share what you thought with me. I’d love to see all your superhero poses and costumes!.
